Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slides into the side of the phone and lets you insert or remove the cards without opening the device. When it is broken, bent or no longer closes properly, the card may no longer be detected or the tray may jam. This part, compatible with the Sony Xperia 5, replaces the current one so the compartment works normally again.
Before fitting, switch off the phone and remove the SIM card. Work on a flat, clean, well-lit surface, away from static electricity. Use a suitable ejection tool and avoid excessive force so the chassis is not damaged. If you need to work inside the device, disconnect the battery first, remembering that a lithium battery must never be punctured or bent.
After replacement, check that the tray slides without friction and closes flush with the chassis. Reinsert the SIM card and check that it is recognised after restarting. If the device overheats or the battery looks swollen, stop the repair and stop using the phone.
