Description
The SIM tray is the small component that holds the SIM card and, in some cases, the microSD card of your smartphone. It slides into a side slot on the device. When it is worn, broken or not closed properly, the card may no longer be detected, the network may disappear or the tray may get stuck. This compatible SIM tray for Y11s is intended to replace the current part when it is damaged.
Before you start, switch off the phone completely and remove the protective case. Use a suitable ejection tool to take out the old tray without forcing it. Work on a clean, clear surface and avoid sudden movements so you do not damage the motherboard or the neighbouring ribbon cable. Also discharge any static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
After fitting, check that the tray slides without resistance and that the SIM card sits correctly in its slot. Switch the phone back on and check that the card is detected and that the network connection works. If the tray does not click into place properly, do not force it: readjust it before closing the device.
