Description
The Force Touch trackpad for MacBook Pro 13" A2159 (2019) is the touch surface of the laptop that responds to the pressure of your fingers. It is used to move the cursor, click and use multi-touch gestures. When it stops responding, the pointer may freeze, clicks may not register or the pressure feedback may feel uneven. This replacement part restores these functions without replacing the whole machine.
The compatible version offered here is a third-party manufacture, suited to the MacBook Pro 13" A2159 (2019) model. Before you start, switch off the device, unplug the charger and disconnect the lithium battery as a precaution. Work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity, with a suitable screwdriver. Do not bend the cable and never force the connectors.
After fitting, reconnect the battery, switch the device on and test the cursor, clicks and gestures across every area of the surface. If the battery was disconnected, let it charge normally before prolonged use.
Tips
- Switch off and unplug the device before any work
- Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Swollen battery: stop using it immediately
- Test clicks and gestures across all areas after fitting
Fitting
