Description
The vibration motor, also known in everyday language as the Taptic Engine, is the small motor that produces the vibrations of the iPhone 14. It handles discreet notifications, keyboard tactile feedback and haptic responses when using the screen. This compatible part fits the iPhone 14 references A2882, A2649, A2881, A2883 and A2884. When it fails, you usually notice a complete absence of vibration, an unusual noise or vibrations that are too weak.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables, to avoid short circuits. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and avoid excessive heat during disassembly. Keep the small screws in a set order so you can put them back in the right place.
Once assembly is complete, check the function by testing notifications and keyboard haptic feedback. If your device has a swollen or damaged battery, stop using it and never puncture or bend it. A full test after reassembly quickly reveals a connector that is badly seated.
