Description
The vibration motor is the small motor that produces the iPhone's vibrations during calls, notifications and haptic keyboard feedback. This compatible vibration motor is used to replace the current part when it no longer vibrates, vibrates only weakly or makes an abnormal noise. A fault in this component is most noticeable when the iPhone stays silent in vibrate mode, or when tactile feedback disappears altogether.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and keep the screws in a precise order for reassembly. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
Once fitting is complete, check the vibration motor's operation in the sound settings, then test notifications and the keyboard. If the device has been opened, also check the seal and the correct positioning of the ribbon cables before closing it up.
