Description
The vibrator is the small motor that makes the phone vibrate during calls, notifications and alerts. On the iPhone 5, it is a compact part placed inside the chassis, connected to the motherboard by a small flexible connector. When it stops working, the phone stays silent during calls and notifications, while the ringtone may still work normally.
This compatible part replaces the faulty vibrator to restore vibration. Before you start, switch the device off and disconnect the battery to avoid any short circuit, then work on a clean, flat surface. Handle the components carefully and avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. Note the orientation of the connector carefully before disconnecting it.
After fitting, reconnect the battery, switch the device on and test the vibrator by activating vibrate mode, then making a test call. If the current part was disconnected incorrectly or the phone heats up abnormally, stop the repair. Never use a swollen battery, and never puncture or bend it.
