Description
The vibrator, also called the Taptic Engine on iPhones, is the small motor that produces screen vibrations for notifications, calls and haptic feedback. This part, compatible with the iPhone 6 Plus, lets you replace a faulty vibrator, for example when the phone no longer vibrates, vibrates weakly or makes an abnormal noise. It is a third-party manufacture, offered as an affordable solution to repair the device.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and prepare a clean, well-lit workspace with suitable tools and small containers to store the screws. Disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables, and work away from static electricity, for example by regularly touching an earthed metal surface. Do not bend or puncture the battery, and never use a phone whose battery is swollen.
After reassembly, check the vibrator's operation with several notifications and a test call, then check that the screen responds normally to touch. If the battery was disconnected during the repair, carry out a few full charge cycles so the system returns to stable behaviour.
