Description
The vibrator is the small motor that makes the phone vibrate during a call, a notification or an alarm. On the K8 (2016), a failure of this component results in a complete absence of vibration, while the ringtone and screen remain normal. This compatible part lets you replace the current component without modifying the rest of the device.
Before you begin, switch off the phone completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, to avoid discharging the components. Keep a small suitable screwdriver and a flat tool within reach to open the casing without forcing it. Note the position of the screws and connectors before removing them.
Once the vibrator is fitted, reconnect the battery, switch the phone back on and test the vibration with several notifications and a call. If the battery is new or recent, run a few full charge cycles before judging the result. Also check that the connector is properly clipped in and that nothing obstructs the motor inside the casing.
