Description
The Pixel 2 vibrator is the small motor that makes the device vibrate during a call, a notification or tactile feedback. This part is compatible with the Pixel 2 model and is made by a third-party manufacturer. It lets you replace a faulty vibrator without changing the whole phone. A fault with this part is often recognised by the absence of vibration, a vibration that is too weak, or a continuous buzzing.
Before fitting, switch off the device and disconnect the battery where the ribbon cable allows it. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable tool to open the casing without forcing it. Note the position of the screws and connectors, and avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
After reassembly, switch the device back on and test the vibrator across several functions: call, alarm, notification and keyboard. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it. Keep heating moderate during testing and check that the casing closes without tension.
