Description
The vibration motor is the small motor that makes your phone vibrate during calls, notifications and haptic feedback. On the Pixel 3, it sits under the motherboard, connected to the main flex cable by a small connector. This compatible part replaces the faulty vibration motor and restores the device's vibration feedback.
A vibration motor that no longer works usually shows up as a phone that stays silent in vibrate mode, does not vibrate for notifications, or gives no haptic feedback when you type on the keyboard. Before you start, switch the phone off, prepare a small screwdriver of the right size and work on a clean, flat surface. Remember to discharge the battery and disconnect it before touching the flex cables. Avoid any contact with electronic components and use an anti-static wrist strap if you have one.
Once the fitting is complete, switch the device back on and test the vibration with several notifications, a test call and the keyboard. If the current part shows a neighbouring battery swelling, stop using it and do not puncture it. Moderate heat is enough to loosen the adhesives.
