Description
This vibration motor is a vibration unit compatible with the Google Pixel 3a. It produces the phone's haptic feedback: vibrations during calls, notifications and certain touch responses. When it fails, the phone may stay silent in vibrate mode or vibrate only very weakly.
Before dismantling, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery so as not to damage the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface and limit static electricity by regularly touching an earthed metal surface. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and stop using a device whose battery is swollen. Moderate heat is enough to loosen the adhesives, without using a source that is too hot.
After reassembly, check the function by activating vibrate mode, then testing a notification and a call. Check that the connectors are firmly clicked in and that no ribbon cable is trapped before closing the device.
Tips
- Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables
- Work on a clean surface and limit static electricity
- Do not puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Swollen battery: stop using the device
- Test the vibration motor in vibrate mode, notification and call after fitting
