Description
The vibrator, also called the haptic motor, is the small component that makes the phone vibrate during a call, a notification or tactile feedback from the keyboard. This part, compatible with the Pixel 4, replaces a faulty vibrator when the phone no longer vibrates, vibrates weakly or makes an abnormal noise.
This is a third-party manufacture, offered as an economical option to repair the device. Before fitting, switch off the phone and disconnect the battery if your skill level allows it. Work on a clean, flat surface with an anti-static tool to limit the risks to the components. Never puncture, bend or force the lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
After fitting, switch the phone back on and test the vibrator with several notifications, a call and the keyboard tactile feedback. Also check that the ribbon cables are properly clipped in and that the phone does not overheat. If the vibration is still absent, check the connector before concluding that the part is faulty.
