Description
The vibrator, also called the vibration motor, is the small component that makes the phone vibrate during calls, notifications and certain haptic feedback. On the Pixel 4a, it sits in the chassis, connected to the motherboard by a small connector. This compatible part lets you replace a faulty vibrator when the device no longer vibrates, vibrates weakly or makes abnormal noises.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and avoid touching electronic components unnecessarily. To remove the screen or the chassis, use plastic tools and moderate heat, without forcing anything. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
Once reassembly is complete, check the function before closing the phone fully: test the vibration during a call or a notification, then check that no cable is trapped. If the result is not satisfactory, reopen the device and check the connector.
