Description
The vibration motor is the small motor that makes the phone vibrate during a call, a notification or tactile feedback. On the Pixel 9a, a fault with this component shows up as no vibration, weak or irregular vibration, or an abnormal noise when haptic feedback is triggered. This compatible part lets you replace the faulty vibration motor without changing the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your skill level allows. Work on a clean, flat surface with a tool suited to opening the device. Avoid static electricity by regularly touching an earthed metal surface, and never force flex cables or fragile connectors.
Once reassembly is complete, check the function by testing the vibration in the phone settings and during a test call. If the current battery is swollen nearby, stop using the device and never puncture or bend a lithium battery.
