Description
The vibration motor is the small motor that makes your phone vibrate during a call, a notification or an alarm. This compatible part is designed to replace the faulty vibration motor of a Priv smartphone. It restores haptic feedback when it is missing, weak or irregular.
If your Priv no longer vibrates while the ringtones still work, the vibration motor is a serious suspect. Before you start, switch off the device, remove the battery if the model allows it, and work on a clean surface, ideally with an anti-static mat. Disconnect the battery before handling the flex cables and avoid excessive heat during disassembly.
Once the part is fitted, switch the device back on and test the vibration motor with several notifications, then with a call. Also check that the connectors are properly clipped in and that no screw has been forgotten. If in doubt, run a few full charge cycles to stabilise operation.
