Description
The rear glass is the glass panel that protects the back of the phone and the components behind it. On the Galaxy S8, it can crack or scratch after a fall, which spoils the look and can cut your hand. This compatible part replaces the damaged glass so the back is clean and tightly closed again.
Before you start, switch off the phone and disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it. Gently warm the edges with a heat gun on a moderate setting to soften the adhesive, then open carefully with a suction cup and a plastic tool. Avoid any metal tool that could scratch the frame or damage the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface and protect yourself against static electricity.
After fitting, check that the glass sits flat all around its edge and that the buttons and the charging port work. Reconnect the battery carefully and let the phone go through a few full charge cycles to check its behaviour.
