Description
This compatible rear glass replaces the glass panel on the back of your iPad 2 (2011). It protects the internal components, such as the battery and the logic board, and keeps the device sealed. If the current part is cracked, shattered or heavily scratched, replacing it restores a clean, solid back and prevents fragments from cutting your hand or getting into the housing.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely and place it on a flat, clean surface. Use a suction cup and a thin plastic tool to open the casing without forcing it. Disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables, and avoid excessive heat when lifting the adhesive. Take care not to puncture or bend the lithium battery: if it is swollen, do not use it and take the necessary precautions to dispose of it safely.
Once the part is fitted, check that the edges are aligned and that there is no play, then reconnect the battery and power the device on. Monitor charging and temperature during the first cycles, and check that everything is held securely before returning the device to use. Also protect yourself from static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
