Description
The rear glass is the glass panel that protects the back of your iPhone 16e. It covers the chassis and leaves the view into the housing open, while also giving the device its appearance. When it is cracked, scratched or broken, shards can cut your hand and moisture or dust can get into the phone. This compatible part lets you replace the damaged component and restore proper protection of the back of the device.
Before you start, switch off the iPhone completely and disconnect the battery before working on any ribbon cables. Work on a clean, flat surface with a suitable opening tool and a suction cup. Warm the edge of the glass gently with moderate heat to soften the adhesive, and never exceed a reasonable temperature. Static electricity can damage components: touch an earthed metal surface before handling the parts.
After fitting, check that the glass is firmly attached, does not move and that no gap is visible. Test the device before closing it up completely. If you are also replacing the battery, carry out a few full charge cycles so the device settles into stable behaviour. Never puncture, bend or crush a lithium battery, and stop using a swollen battery.
