Description
The rear glass is the glass panel that protects the back of your iPhone 8 Plus. It also houses the wireless charging area and serves as a visual support for the phone. When it is cracked or shattered, the current part can cut your hand and let dust and moisture reach the inside.
This compatible rear glass lets you replace only the back panel, without touching the screen. It suits the repair of a phone whose glass is damaged but whose internal components still work. Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, flat surface. Gentle heating, for example with a hair dryer set on low, helps lift the adhesive without overheating the battery.
Once the new glass is fitted, check that the edges align and that there is no play before closing it up. Switch on the phone and test wireless charging as well as the camera. If the battery has been handled, run a few complete charge cycles so it can settle. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using the device if the battery is swollen.
