Description
The rear glass is the glass panel that protects the back of the phone. It often cracks after a fall, and a broken glass can injure your hand or let dust in. This compatible OnePlus 5 part lets you replace the damaged glass and get back a clean, well-sealed back cover.
The glass is glued to the frame with an adhesive. Before you start, switch off the phone and work on a flat, clean surface. Gently warm the edge with a hot air gun, without overdoing it, to soften the glue. Use a suction cup and a plastic tool to lift the glass carefully, without forcing or bending the frame.
After fitting, clean the bonding area thoroughly with a dry cloth, then place the new glass and press evenly for a few minutes. Check that all edges are properly seated and that the phone starts normally. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and never puncture it.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before any work.
- Warm the edge gently with warm air, never with a source that is too hot.
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery; if it swells, stop using it.
- Protect the components with an anti-static wrist strap during fitting.
- Check the alignment and adhesion of the glass before refitting the cover.
