Description
The rear glass is the outer face of the phone that protects the inside and its components. On the Pixel 2, it can crack or scratch after a fall, which makes it uncomfortable to the touch and can weaken the chassis. This compatible part replaces the damaged current part and gives you a clean, firmly fixed back.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your opening method requires it. Work on a clean, flat surface, using a plastic opening tool to avoid scratching the chassis. Earth yourself to reduce the risk of static electricity, which can damage electronic components. Handle the battery with care: do not puncture or bend it, and stop using the phone if the battery looks swollen.
Once the part is fitted, check the alignment of the edges, that there is no play, and that the buttons and sensor work properly. Switch the device back on and check the display and charging. Monitor the temperature during the first uses and avoid any excessive heat.
