Description
The back glass is the side of the phone that protects the inside of the device. On the Pixel 4, it can crack, scratch deeply or shatter after a fall, which makes it uncomfortable to hold and can let in dust and moisture. This compatible part is made by a third party and lets you replace the damaged back glass so you get a clean, protected casing again.
Before you start, switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before working on any ribbon cables. Use an anti-static tool and a suction cup or plastic spudger to lift the glass without forcing it. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use the device if the battery is swollen. Keep the heat moderate while dismantling.
After reassembly, check that the glass is firmly attached, that the buttons respond and that the device does not overheat. If the battery was disconnected, let it go through a few full charge cycles to regain stable operation. Take your time checking each connector before closing up.
