Description
The rear glass is the glass panel that protects the back of the phone. It is fixed to the chassis with an adhesive and also lets components of the device pass through, such as wireless charging where it is provided. When it is cracked, shattered or deeply scratched, it can make the phone harder to hold, let dust and moisture in, and damage the components behind it. This compatible Redmi 7 part lets you replace the damaged back panel so you get a clean, properly sealed back again.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before working on any ribbon cables. Work on a flat, dust-free surface and use a plastic opening tool so you do not scratch the chassis. Warm the edges lightly with a hair dryer on a moderate setting to soften the adhesive, and never go beyond a comfortable warmth to the touch. Avoid bending the battery and never puncture it.
Once the new glass is fitted, check that it is well aligned and that the adhesive sticks along the whole edge. Switch the device back on and check that everything works properly. If the battery was disconnected, carry out a few full charge cycles afterwards so the device runs stably again.
