Description
The front glass is the glass surface that protects the screen of your Galaxy S8 and passes touch input through to the panel. This compatible part replaces cracked or scratched glass, without touching the screen underneath when only the glass is replaced. It helps restore a clean touch surface and proper protection against everyday knocks.
Before you start, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace with a small set of screwdrivers and suction cups or a plastic spatula to lift the glass. Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables, and avoid static electricity by working on an anti-static mat if possible. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and stop using any device whose battery is swollen.
Once reassembly is finished, check touch across the whole surface, brightness, the sensors near the earpiece and the glass edges. If the adhesive does not hold well, do not force the closing. Take the time to check alignment before closing everything completely.
Tips
- Disconnect the battery before any work on the ribbon cables
- Work in a clean area to keep dust out from under the glass
- Warm the edge slightly to soften the adhesive, without excessive heat
- Check touch and sensors before closing the device again
- Never bend or puncture the lithium battery
