Description
This Nintendo Switch flex cable (left) is a flexible ribbon that connects part of the device's motherboard to the components on the left side. It carries signals and power between these components, and the quality of the connection determines how well that side of the device works. When it is damaged, worn or poorly connected, some functions may become unstable or stop responding, depending on the area concerned.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any cables, to avoid short circuits. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static wrist strap if you have one, and never force the connectors. For removal, use plastic tools rather than metal ones so you do not scratch the board.
After fitting, check that the cable is properly clicked into place, then power the device back on before closing the casing. Test the functions linked to this side of the device before fully reassembling it. If the battery was disconnected, reconnect it carefully and avoid excessive heat during the first tests.
