Description
This LCD metal plate iPhone 8 is a part of the device chassis. It acts as a rigid support for the screen and its internal components, and helps keep everything firmly in place. When it is bent or damaged, the screen may come loose, vibrate or show fixing problems. This is a compatible part, made by a third party, to be used as a replacement for the current part.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before handling any ribbon cables or the chassis. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable screwdriver and small containers to sort the screws by location. Avoid forcing the clips and bending the plate. Take care with the lithium battery: do not puncture it, do not bend it, and never use a swollen cell.
After fitting, check that the screen is securely attached, that there is no abnormal play and that the cables are not pinched. Reconnect the battery, then test the screen and touch function before closing the device for good.
