Description
The SN61280H power supply IC is an integrated circuit that manages the distribution of electrical power inside the device. It receives current from the battery or the charger and distributes it to the various components, adapting the voltage to their needs. On a iPhone 15, a faulty IC can cause the device to stop switching on, shut down for no reason, charge poorly or overheat while charging.
The part offered is a compatible version, made by a third party. It allows you to replace the faulty IC without changing the whole board. Before any work, switch off the device, unplug the charger and remove the battery if the model allows it. Work on a clean, dry surface and protect the board from static electricity.
After fitting, check the solder joints with a magnifier and make sure there is no short circuit before refitting the battery. When switching on for the first time, watch the temperature of the device. For a battery, carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to let the system recalibrate. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using a swollen battery.
