Description
The power IC is an electronic component on the motherboard that regulates the voltage sent to the different parts of the device. When it fails, the device may no longer start, switch off at random or overheat abnormally. This part, compatible with the Nintendo Switch model, lets you replace the damaged component without changing the entire board.
Before any work, switch off the device and disconnect the battery where possible. Work on a clean surface, with an antistatic station or an earthing wrist strap to avoid electrostatic discharges that can destroy circuits. Prepare a hot air station or a suitable iron, monitoring the temperature so you do not damage the neighbouring tracks.
After fitting, check the solder joints carefully under a microscope and make sure there is no short circuit. Power the device on and observe its behaviour for several minutes, watching for any rise in temperature. If in doubt, stop the test and repeat the checks.
