Description
The charging IC is a small integrated circuit that manages the power supply to the battery when you plug in your device's charging cable. It controls the current and voltage sent to the battery and helps protect the components on the motherboard. This part, reference 1616A0, is intended for the iPhone 13 Pro Max model. When it is faulty, the device may stop charging, charge irregularly or become unusually hot near the charging port.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It lets you replace the current part at a lower cost, without a guarantee of strictly identical operation. Before you start, switch the device off, disconnect it from any power source and discharge the battery as much as possible. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static station if possible, to avoid electrostatic discharge.
After fitting, check that the charging connector is properly seated and that there is no short circuit. Switch the device back on, connect a suitable charger and check that heating stays moderate. Then run a few full charging cycles to let the system recalibrate. If the battery swells or the device heats up strongly, stop immediately and do not use it any more.
