Description
The charging IC is a small electronic circuit that controls the power coming in when you plug in your device. It regulates the voltage and current sent to the battery, so that it charges safely and progressively. On a iPhone 13 Pro Max, a faulty charging IC can show up as a phone that no longer charges, charges very slowly, or only detects the cable intermittently.
This compatible part, made by a third-party manufacturer, lets you replace the faulty component at a lower cost. Before you start, switch off the device, unplug it from any power source and work on a clean, dry surface. Use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch a metal ground to avoid electrostatic discharge. Disconnect the battery before handling the flex cables, and never puncture or bend the lithium battery.
After fitting, carefully check the contact of the connectors and that there is no play. Reconnect the device, check that charging starts correctly, then let it go through a few full charge and discharge cycles before judging the result. If the battery swells or overheats abnormally, stop using it immediately.
