Description
This IC chip, reference Camera Chip 338S00564, is an integrated circuit dedicated to the camera of the iPhone 12. It takes part in processing the images captured by the photo module. When it fails, the device may display a black, frozen or distorted image, or the camera app may no longer launch. This part is a compatible version made by a third party, designed for a low-cost do-it-yourself repair.
Before you begin, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery when the procedure requires it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static wrist strap or by regularly touching a metal ground to prevent static electricity. Use suitable tools and heat moderately if necessary, never forcing connectors or ribbon cables.
After reassembly, check the camera works before fully closing the device: photo, video, switching between lenses and focus control. If a battery has been handled, do not puncture it, bend it or use a swollen battery. Carry out a few full charge cycles to check the stability of the whole.
