Description
This IC chip, also called an integrated circuit, is an electronic component found on the motherboard of certain devices. Its name indicates that it manages the power supply of the signals, allowing several parts of the board to receive a stable voltage. It is associated with iPhone 12 in this sheet. When it fails, the symptoms can vary: the device does not start, shuts down unexpectedly, behaves erratically or some functions no longer respond.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It does not necessarily match the current part, so carefully check that its reference exactly matches that of the chip being removed before any replacement. Soldering requires precision: prepare a clean workspace, a hot air station or a suitable iron, solder paste and a magnifier. Protect the board from static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap.
After fitting, test the board when powering it on and check the relevant functions before closing the device. If a battery is present, disconnect it before any work on the ribbon cables. Never force a component and keep the heat moderate to avoid damaging the neighbouring tracks.
