Description
This iPhone 14 Pro Max IC chip is an integrated circuit that manages USB charging, identified under the reference Hydra USB Charging Controller 1618A1. It controls the power coming in from the charging port and helps ensure the battery is properly supplied. When it fails, the device may stop charging, charge erratically or overheat when the cable is plugged in. This part is a compatible version, made by a third party, and not an original part.
Before you start, switch off the power, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, dry surface. Use an anti-static wrist strap or touch a metal ground regularly to avoid electrostatic discharge. Handle the solder joints with care and check under a magnifier that there is no bridge between the pins before powering the device back on.
After fitting, connect a good-quality charger and monitor the device's temperature during the first charges. Run a few full charge and discharge cycles so the system returns to normal behaviour. If the battery swells, deforms or gets very hot, stop using it and do not puncture it.
