Description
This iPhone 14 Pro Max IC chip is an integrated circuit for managing USB Power Delivery charging, referenced CS4C20. It sits on the device's circuit board and negotiates the voltage and current between the charger and the device when fast charging is used. When it is faulty, the device may stop charging, charge very slowly, overheat abnormally when plugged in, or fail to recognise the charger.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It is not original, but it offers an affordable solution to get the device working again. Before any work, switch off the device, unplug the charger and remove the battery if the board allows it. Work on a clean, anti-static surface, with a suitable wrist strap or mat, and handle the chip by its edges.
After fitting, check the solder joints carefully under a microscope or magnifier, looking for any short circuits between the pins. Reconnect the device with a recognised charger and monitor the temperature during the first charges. If the battery swells or heats up strongly, stop using the device immediately.
