Description
The Power Crystal Oscillator IC chip is an integrated circuit that supplies the clock signal needed for certain functions of iPhone 15 Plus to work. It sits on the device's motherboard and helps manage power supply and the synchronisation of components. When it fails, the device may behave erratically, for example failing to start or functions that no longer respond. This part is a compatible option, made by a third party, and is intended for people who repair their own device.
Before any work, switch off the device, disconnect it from every power source and work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity. Use a soldering station at a moderate temperature and a suitable flux paste to limit the risk of damaging the neighbouring tracks. Check the position of the chip before removing it and note its orientation, as a chip fitted the wrong way round prevents any operation.
After fitting, check the tracks with a magnifier and look for any short circuit before powering the device back on. Then test the functions linked to the chip for several minutes, watching for any abnormal heating.
