Description
This IC chip, also called an integrated circuit, is an electronic component from the family of power amplifiers and radio filters. It is part of the chain that handles the sending and receiving of the device's wireless signals, in particular for the connection to the mobile network. When it no longer works properly, you may notice a loss of network, degraded call quality or an intermittent connection, especially on iPhone 15. This part is a compatible version, made by a third party, and it must be soldered carefully onto the board.
Before you start, switch off the power and disconnect the battery, as lithium must never be punctured or bent. Protect the board against static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap or by touching an earthed metal surface. Use a hot air station at a moderate temperature and a suitable flux paste to limit the heat transferred to neighbouring components.
After fitting, carefully check the solder joints with a magnifier and make sure there is no short circuit before reconnecting the power. Then test network reception and calls for several minutes, and check that the device does not overheat abnormally.
