Description
This power / volume flex cable is a compatible spare part for G2. It carries the power and volume adjustment buttons and connects these controls to the device's motherboard. When these buttons stop responding, become erratic or only work intermittently, the flex cable is often the cause, as is a bent cable or a connection that has oxidised over time.
Before you begin, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before touching the flex cables. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and keep the small screws in a tray so they don't get lost. Avoid excessive heat during disassembly and never force the connectors, which are fragile.
Once the flex cable is fitted, check that the buttons work correctly before closing the casing completely. If the behaviour does not improve, re-seat the connector. Test each function before reassembling the device to make sure the part properly replaces the current one.
