Description
The power / volume flex cable is the small flexible circuit that links the side buttons of G2 to the motherboard. It carries the commands to switch the phone on, switch it off and adjust the volume. When one of these buttons stops responding, sticks, no longer presses in or works only intermittently, this flex cable is often the cause. Before you start, switch the device off, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible.
The part offered is of compatible quality, made by a third party, and it is not an original manufacturer part. It may therefore show small differences in shape or finish. Handle it by its edges, without bending it or pulling on the cable, and check the alignment of its connectors before fixing it. Moderate heat can help lift the old flex cable, but avoid any excess.
After fitting, reconnect the battery and test each button: volume up, volume down and power on. If the device does not start, check the connection direction before concluding there is a fault. When in doubt, keep the old flex cable to hand for comparison.
