Description
This IC chip, reference U5300 and known as Camera Control, is an integrated circuit that manages the camera control of the iPhone 13. It forms part of the circuit board and takes part in the operation of the lens and the functions linked to image capture. When it is faulty, the camera may stop responding, a camera-related error message may appear, or a module may fail to start. This part is offered in a compatible version, meaning made by a third party, for a budget-friendly repair.
Before any work, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, dry surface. Protect the components from static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap and handle the chip by its edges. Use a soldering iron or desoldering station at a moderate temperature to avoid damaging the neighbouring tracks. Check the alignment of the chip before fixing it.
After reassembly, reconnect the battery and test the camera in all its functions, for both photo and video. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and do not puncture, bend or fold it. Careful checking of the circuit helps avoid unpleasant surprises.
