Description
This iPhone 8 IC chip is an integrated circuit for the LCD digitiser of the iPhone 8 device. The digitiser is the glass touch surface that responds to your fingers, and the chip that drives it manages communication between that touch layer and the rest of the motherboard. When it is faulty, part of the screen may stop responding, touch zones may trigger on their own, or the screen may not respond to touch at all.
This is a compatible part made by a third-party manufacturer. It allows you to replace the faulty component at a low cost when repairing your iPhone 8. Before any work, switch the device off, disconnect the battery and avoid working on a surface carrying static electricity. Take the time to identify the exact position of the chip and keep the removed components for checking.
After fitting, test the touch function across the whole surface, including the edges and corners. If the battery was disconnected during the repair, reconnect it carefully and let the device charge normally. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using a swollen battery.
