Description
The IC chip iPhone 8 (ref. U3100) is an integrated circuit, a small electronic component soldered onto the device's motherboard. It performs a specific function on the board in conjunction with the other components. When it fails, the device may show abnormal behaviour, depending on the function it fulfils on the board. This part is offered as a compatible version, made by a third party, for iPhone 8 devices.
Before you start, switch off the power, disconnect the battery where possible, and work on a clean, anti-static surface. Use an anti-static wrist strap and a suitable soldering iron or soldering station, limiting the heat so as not to damage the neighbouring components. Check the orientation of the chip before removing and positioning it.
After reassembly, carefully check the solder joints for short circuits and solder bridges before powering the device back on. Then test the functions concerned by the chip. If the device has been exposed to heat or moisture, let it dry completely before powering it up.
