Description
This part is an IC chip, that is an integrated circuit, identified as PMX65 and intended for the baseband section of the iPhone 14 Plus device. It is one of the components that handle part of the communication and signal processing functions. When it is faulty, you may notice symptoms such as no network, loss of signal or unstable behaviour linked to the radio section. This chip is offered in a compatible version, made by a third party, for a more affordable repair.
Before you start, switch off the power, remove the battery if the device allows it and work on a clean, anti-static surface. An IC chip is fragile: avoid touching it with your fingers, use suitable tweezers and a soldering or desoldering station at a moderate temperature so you do not damage the neighbouring tracks. Check visually the alignment and the absence of short circuits before powering on.
After fitting, restart the device and test the relevant functions: network, calls, data. If the device heats up abnormally or the battery is swollen, stop the operation immediately. For iPhone 14 Plus, take the time to check each function before considering the repair complete.
