Description
This IC chip, also known as an integrated circuit, is an electronic component that manages battery charging through the USB port of the iPhone 6 Plus device. It regulates the current and voltage sent to the battery, protecting the battery during charging. When it is faulty, the device may stop charging, charge very slowly, or fail to start once connected to mains power.
This is a compatible part, made by a third-party manufacturer, offering an affordable solution for repairing the charging function. Before you begin, switch the device off completely, unplug any charger and remove the battery if the board allows it. Work on a clean surface, with a hot air station at a moderate temperature and protection against static electricity. Tweezers and a magnifying glass make working on the small components easier.
After fitting, carefully check the solder joints and the absence of short circuits before powering the device back on. Then connect the charger and check that charging starts normally. For a battery, carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to stabilise operation. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using a swollen battery.
