Description
This IC chip, also known as an integrated circuit, is the component that manages the charging of the device when you plug in the USB cable. Referenced U2300 on the USB charging circuit, it is compatible with the iPhone 6S model. It ensures that the battery receives a correct current and that the charging connection works normally.
A faulty charging chip can show up as a phone that no longer charges, charges intermittently, or fails to detect the cable. Before any replacement, check the cable, the power adapter and the USB port to rule out a simpler cause. Work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity, with tweezers and suitable precision tools.
Disconnect the battery before working on the board components. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and never use a swollen battery. After reassembly, carry out a few full charge cycles and check that heating stays moderate and that charging is stable.
