Replace the screen on an iPhone 15 Pro

Safety
- Lithium-ion battery: do not puncture it, bend it or lever it with a metal tool. A swollen, hot or damaged battery must not be reused.
- Heat: heat in short, moderate steps; too much heat damages the screen, the battery and the seals.
- Static electricity: work on a non-metallic surface and discharge yourself before touching the flex cables.
- Switch off the device and disconnect all cables before starting. Wear glasses if the glass is cracked, as glass fragments can come loose.
- After repair, the original water resistance may be reduced: do not rely on water resistance.
Steps
Diagram · Device switched off, clean workspace 1Prepare the device and the workspace
Switch off the iPhone completely and disconnect all cables. Set up on a clean, well-lit surface and put on your anti-static wrist strap. If the glass is cracked, stick masking tape over it to limit flying fragments.

Remove the two small screws on either side of the charging port. Store them in a container and note where each one goes.
Diagram · New adhesive 3Soften the edge adhesive
Heat the edges of the screen gently, especially at the bottom, to soften the glue. The glass should become warm without being hot to the touch.
Diagram · Suction cup, then pick 4Lift the screen
Place the suction cup near the bottom of the screen, pull gently to create a small gap, then slide in a thin spudger. Move the tools along the edges keeping shallow, as the flex cables run close to the sides. Do not force it, and reheat if the glue resists.
Diagram · Open like a book 5Open the screen without pulling on the flex cables
Open the screen like the page of a book, lifting it only a few centimetres. Prop it up on a stable support so that it does not pull on the cables connected to the logic board.

Remove the metal bracket that protects the connectors, keeping track of the order and position of the screws. First disconnect the battery connector with a plastic tool, lifting it without forcing it.

Next, disconnect the screen and touch sensor connectors, always lifting them from above. Remove the screen and set it aside. If small parts (sensors, earpiece speaker, covers) need to be transferred to the new screen, move them carefully.
Diagram · New adhesive 8Clean the edge and fit the new adhesive
Remove any remaining glue from the frame with a plastic spudger and dust the area thoroughly. Apply the waterproofing adhesive following the shape of the frame, without folding it or letting it crease.

Connect the screen, replace the bracket and reconnect the battery last. Switch the iPhone back on to check the display, touch response, brightness and sensors. If everything works, switch it off again, position the screen by aligning the edges, press gradually around the edge, then refit the two bottom screws.
