Description
This IC chip, or integrated circuit, is a 5662A0 reference Flash memory, marked U4120 on the board. It stores data needed for the device to operate, such as certain boot or configuration information. When it fails, the device may no longer start, get stuck on the logo or show malfunctions that are hard to explain. This part is compatible with iPhone X. It is a third-party manufacture, offered as an economical solution to repair your device.
Before you start, disconnect the power, remove the battery if your model allows it, and work on a clean, dry surface. Protect the components from static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap or by regularly touching a metal ground. Moderate heat is enough for desoldering: excessive heat could damage the neighbouring tracks. Check the orientation of the chip carefully before placing it.
After fitting, inspect the solder joints under a magnifier and make sure no pins are bridged. Then switch the device back on and observe its startup behaviour. If a battery is involved in the repair, carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise operation. Never puncture, bend or use a swollen battery.
