Description
This IC chip, reference Chestnut U5600, is an integrated circuit that drives the display of the iPhone X device. It is part of the chain that sends images to the screen. When it is faulty, you may see a black screen, lines, incorrect colours or an unstable display. This is a compatible part made by a third party, offered for a low-cost repair.
Before you start, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace with an anti-static wrist strap or an anti-static mat. Disconnect the battery before handling any ribbon cables and avoid overheating the components when desoldering. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it.
After fitting, check the display over several uses: brightness, screen rotation and colour transitions. For a repair of this type, a visual check of the solder joints with a magnifier is still recommended before powering the device back on.
