Description
The U5100 IC chip is a compatible integrated circuit designed to be fitted to the mainboard of the iPhone X device. It helps with certain power management or internal communication functions of the board. When it fails, the device may show various symptoms, such as irregular charging or unexpected restarts. This part is made by a third-party manufacturer and is an economical solution to repair your device.
Before any work, switch off the device and disconnect the battery. Work on a clean surface, wearing an earthing wrist strap, as static electricity can damage an integrated circuit. Heat the board with moderation so as not to damage neighbouring components, and check the alignment of the chip before soldering it. A multimeter check and a magnifier inspection are recommended.
After fitting, power the device back on and check its operation: charging, network, screen and the functions affected by the fault. If anything is abnormal, stop and check your solder joints. A compatible part may behave slightly differently from the original part, so test each function carefully before closing the device.
